Washable Carpet Tile

What's all that noise about washable carpet tiles? It seems that everyone who's anyone (including some of my fellow colleagues) are touting them as the next big thing in home improvement. In fact, there are so many manufacturers out there claiming that their products are better than others that it's hard to believe that they all can live up to their promises....or is it? Well, let me help by telling you what to look for in a carpet tile and how easy it is to find washable carpet tile.What's all the hype about washable carpet tiles? 

First of all, they're a lot easier to take care of than traditional carpet/ rug designs such as wool, nylon, and velour. What's more, since washable tiles don't have to be permanently attached to the floor (unlike most other residential washing systems), you don't need to worry about ironing them, vacuuming them, or anything else like that. They can just be "washed" with plain water in a machine that dries out the backing (and sometimes the yarn) so that you can use just plain water when cleaning your carpets....as long as you use a gentle detergent and a gentle-quality scrub brush.And washing them is a lot easier as well - they can go into the dryer on the highest setting and come out looking just as clean and dry as new. 

In addition, if you do end up ruining a washable tile, you can just send it back to the manufacturer, as most manufacturers allow returns and exchanges on any product (including washable rug tiles). You know, they're washable carpeting, plain and simple. Anyone can walk on them...as long as you give them a good washing.
