Oldest Eastern Carpets

Chinese Carpet or Chinese Rug is also one of the oldest eastern carpets which is woven in China. 

Long pile carpets of ancient China are regarded as those from Manchuria, Mongolia, Andorra, and Yunnan. Some pile carpets were dated to the Kangxi Dynasty. 

There is also a wide variety of styles, colors, and patterns in which the Chinese carpets are available. These carpets can be used for both interior and exterior home decorations.Chinese carpets are usually made by weaving wool threads together with vertically plaited backing called "qi" or needlework. The resulting material is then woven and dried. Although there are various methods and materials used, the finished product always has some characteristic feature like knots, slits, sloping joints, uneven grains, tight curls, and knots in the yarn. In order to give the carpet its unique look, the knots and slits are painted in different designs, patterns, and hues.

Chinese carpets are now used for flooring, wall coverings, and wall hanging decorations in many homes, hotels, offices, and business establishments. They have become popular because they are rich in quality, low in price, and are very durable and easy to maintain.
